Common medications used to treat heart disease may deplete the body of important nutrients and can potentially cause or exacerbate a patient’s symptoms. Many of the side effects of medications can be related to nutrient deficiencies, and these side effects can be prevented with attention to prevent the nutrient deficiencies.  Medications aren’t always necessary but sometimes they are important to improve symptoms and can even save lives, but we watch for side effects that may keep your body from working as well as it should be. Below is a list of common cardiovascular medications and associated potential deficiencies. Before starting to take any supplements, consult your doctor.
